It is a very complicated process for the Koreans who remained in the Northeast of China to be turned into Chinese Koreans after the Recovery, in which the Korean leaders in China had taken a decisive role. However, until now most of the researches mainly focused on the Land Reform Policy of the Communist Party of China and showed no concern about the Korean people"s nationality problem and the Korean leaders" function to deal this problem in Land Reform. From this point, this thesis try to observe the Korean leaders function and their position in this historical process by doing comparative study on the novel Tiger Cliff whose author Lee Geun-jeon was a Chinese Korean writer and leader in 1960s, the biography of Ju Deok-hae who was the first President of the Yan Bian Korean autonomous region, the Biography of Jo Nam-gi who was an excellent Chinese Korean leader and the memoirs of the Chinese Korean revolutioners in that time.
Korean leaders" choice and function in these biography and memoirs were mainly reflected during the process for Korean youths to join the army and the process of enthusiastic Land Reform in the Korean villages. After the Recovery, Korean youths joined the Eighth Route Army of the Communist Party of China at the aim of joining the army of Korean themselves, liberating their motherland Korea and responding to the Korean leaders" propaganda. With Korean people"s sensitive and complicated nationality problem during the Land Reform, the Korean peasants had to accept dual nationality to get the land share in that special historical situation. During this process, the Korean leaders played a decisive part. However, towards the same historical reality, Lee Geun-jeon"s novel Tiger Cliff put it on the level of normal social class but not the national level and minimized the Korean leaders" choice and their function. This kind of differences between historical reality and novel might reflect Chinese Korean"s position and the Korean leaders" perplexity. Being a Chinese Korean was the prerequisite for them to find and fix their position as a leader of ethnic minority, but as a Chinese Korean, they are required to help all the Chinese Koreans to do choice, which was a big burden and sometimes made them confused.
