This study evaluates the performance of 20 kW small wind turbine system and analyzes the wind resource characteristics in Kunsan National University. The results of the study of wind resource characteristics show the maximum wind speed is 14 m/s and the frequency per minute is more than 10 for wind speeds of up to 10 m/s. The maximum power and power coefficient are 29.7 kW at 14 m/s and 24.2 % at 8.5 m/s, also the increase and decrease of power (power coefficient) was observed at high-wind-speed zone. This result was considered due to small numbers of measured data and so it is planned continuously to measure until more than 10 speed data up to 14 m/s are obtained.
