Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes skin photoaging characterized by wrinkle formation and skin dehydration. Photoaging induces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) expression and inhibits collagen synthesis. Rosa canina, or commonly called rosehip, is well known to possess high anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. This study evaluated the protective effect of Rosa canina extract (RCE) on UVB-induced photoaging in hairless mice.
