The importance of the environmental industry was recognized as a major issue for the environmental problems (the climate change, the exhaustion of fossil fuels )of the 21st century. Many country and korea as well are exerting an effort to make plans to develop the environmental industry, expand the domestic market, and make it a global industry. According to this trend, the gyeongsangbuk-do has also designated the environmental industry as a strategic industry with high potential for development when recognizing new growth industries. Gyeongsangbuk-do is faced with a number of unsolved tasks and has not quite grasped current situations of the environmental industry. This study integrated the results of the conducted studies and divided the eight detailed environmental industry into three groups(priority group, strategic group, and which need to establish their basis. The priority group include the environmental industries for water management and environmental safety and health. The strategic group include those for climate change response and air quality management. The group which need to establish their basis include those for resource circulation management and restoring the environment. Based on the policy tasks, the detailed plans for the environmental industry I the gyeongsangbuk-do include : establishing a new organization which will be in charge of various works or strengthening the current organization to expend the supporting developing organization for developing the environmental industry and fulfill the efficiency guidelines.
