Objective: The research aims to explore factors of gender sensitivity of early childhood education teachers through reviewing relevant studies about gender and early childhood education. In this paper, the concept of the early childhood education teachers’ gender sensitivity suggested feeling uncomfortable with gender discrimination and sexual stereotypes in early childhood settings and including the intention to change these feelings positively. Method: A systematic literature review(Petticrew & Roberts, 2006) was used to collect and uncovered the factors of the teachers’ gender sensitivity. Therefore, 16 studies were selected and the factors were extracted with the meta-aggregation method(Dixon-Woods et al., 2005). For the content validity, two professors and two doctoral students reviewed the results. Results: Four factors of the early childhood education teachers’ gender sensitivity were identified. The teachers’ gender sensitivity involved 'openness to sexual roles', 'self-reflection as a teacher', 'non-violence', and 'openness to gender identity'. The details of the four factors were explained in 23 contents. Conclusion: By exploring the factors, it is expected to suggest teachers teaching and caring with gender sensitivity in early childhood settings.
